Hey,
This is my first post here. I am going into Computer>manage>device manager>network adapters>my adapter>rightclick>properties>advanced and I am trying to change the 'property' from '802.11d' to 'wireless mode' (under value next to 'wireless mode' it says IEE 802.11b/g/n) which i believe my BT internet supports, but when I click on it and press OK, I go and check what it is again and it has reverted back to the original 802.11d. I have tried this with a different network adapter so it is not due to the adapter Id think! The other network adapter has different settings under 'property' with Network type (with value infrastructure or ad-hoc) and wireless mode. Any help appreciated, let me know if you need more information I will give it immediately!

By default the 802.11d option is disabled. It can be enabled with the following steps: Go to 'Power tools' 'Regedit' Go to key HKEYLOCALMACHINE Comm TIWLNAPI1 Parms Set: 'MultiRegulatoryDomain'='1'. Close 'Regedit' Warm boot the terminal. Jun 20, 2014 Hey, This is my first post here. IEEE 802.11d-2001 is an amendment to the IEEE 802.11 specification that adds support for 'additional regulatory domains'. This support includes the addition of a country information element to beacons, probe requests, and probe responses. The country information elements simplifies the creation of 802.11 wireless access points and client devices that meet the different regulations enforced in various parts of the world. The amendment has been incorporated into the published IEEE 802.11-2012 standard.
802.11 is a set of IEEE standards that govern wireless networking transmission methods. They are commonly used today in their 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, and 802.11ac, versions to provide wireless connectivity in the home, office and some commercial establishments.
802.11d is a wireless specification for operation in additional regulatory domains. This supplement to the 802.11 specifications defines the physical layer requirements:
- Hopping patterns
- New values for current MIB attributes
- Future requirements to extend the operation of 802.11 WLANs to new regulatory domains (countries).
The current 802.11 standard defines operation in only a few regulatory domains (countries). This supplement adds the requirements and definitions necessary to allow 802.11 WLAN equipment to operate in markets not served by the current standard. These are anything other than Americas or FCC, Europe or ETSI, Japan, China, Israel, Singapore, Taiwan.[1]
As of January 1, 2015, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission ruled that new devices are not allowed to rely solely on 802.11d for setting country-specific radio parameters.[2]
